The 25 dedicated meeting rooms at our meeting venue in Southbury near Litchfield, CT offer space that can accommodate five to 225 attendees. The Constitution Room, one of the few tiered amphitheaters in Connecticut, is fully equipped with professional sound and lighting capabilities, meeting technology, and rear-screen projection. The Conference Services Desk is available to provide complete secretarial support, and on-site Conference Technicians will assist with technology and multimedia electronic presentations. The Day Meeting Package
Your comprehensive Day Meeting Package includes:

A professional conference planner will assist you with all your meeting planning needs at our Southbury meeting venue near Litchfield. This will be your single point of contact before, during and after your meeting. You'll have a dedicated conference room set to your specifications with ergonomic chairs, writing tablets, pencils, bottled water, glasses, hard candies and a supply kit. Enjoy a continuously replenished refreshment breaks with:

Enjoy our on-site recreation at Heritage Hotel Sports Club. We offer treadmills, step masters, Lifecycles, and an extensive variety of weight machines, steam room, sauna, indoor/outdoor pools, and whirlpool. **Golf charges not included.

Team Improv:

Objectives:

Keys: Working together on the spot, under pressure, and with unknown resources in order to accomplish a goal.

Groups: Pairs, threes, fours, or entire team!

The Great Egg Drop:

Objectives:

  • A competition between groups
  • Dramatic egg drop at the end
  • Problem solving and teamwork

Keys:

  • Must build a single egg package that can sustain a fall of 8 feet
  • Before the drop each group must present a 30-second commercial for the egg package to explain why their package is the best

Material:

  • 4-12 straws (# depends on difficulty)
  • Duct tape (Length depends on difficulty)
  • 1 fresh egg
  • Newspaper

Time:

  • 30-45 minutes to build package
  • 10 minutes to prepare the commercial
  • 15-30 minutes for the egg drop
  • 15 minutes for debriefing

Groups: Pairs to groups of four or five

Newspaper Shelter:

Objectives:

  • Team interaction
  • Build communication skills
  • Teamwork/ Cooperation
  • Planning
  • Fun!

Keys: The group is told they are stranded in the desert. They have to build a structure that is free-standing and will protect the entire group from the sun.

Material:

  • Newspaper
  • Masking tape

Time:

  • 20 minutes to plan how to build the structure
  • 20 minutes to build the structure
  • 10 minutes for completion
  • 10 minutes for debriefing
  • Optional: No talking during the building phase

Silent Opera:

Objectives:

  • Encourages teamwork
  • Inspires commitment
  • Builds trust

Keys:

  • 1 blindfolded volunteer
  • 1 volunteer gives instructions to the blindfolded volunteer
  • The remaining members are mute
  • The blindfolded member can speak, but will need to be told what to do in order to accomplish the task
  • The instruction giver can only look at the large group, and must tell the blindfolded member what to do
  • The large group will know the task and must communicate to the instruction giver without talking and without crossing the line

Materials:

  • Assorted objects
  • Blindfold
  • Tape to mark a line on the floor

Time: Can be done multiple times with rule variations

Cost: $200

Sneek-a-Peek:

Objective: For each person to do his/her part when solving a problem as a group.

Keys:

  • Ask 1 member from each team to come "sneek-a-peek" at the model structure for 5 seconds each to try to memorize as much as possible
  • They then return to their group and have 25 seconds to describe the model to their groups
  • After 25 seconds a different member from each team comes for a 5-second peek
  • This continues until one group successfully duplicates the model
  • Other models can be built and used for additional rounds of the game

Materials:

  • Popsicle sticks
  • Glue/tape

Time: Approx. 1 hour (allow more time for more rounds)

Blind Folded Cake Decorating:

Objectives:

  • Teamwork
  • Fun!

Keys:

  • Decorate your own cake blindfolded
  • Optional: Have partners help guide you

Materials:

  • Unfrosted cakes
  • Frosting
  • Sprinkles

  • Spatulas

Time: Approx. 90 minutes
